KATHMANDU, May 7: Renowned singer Menuka Paudel has undergone a delicate surgery on her eyes. Known as 'Cosmetic Prosthetic,' this procedure was conducted by Dr Purnima Rajakarnikar, a senior oculoplastic surgeon at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology.
Despite the placement of the prosthetic, Paudel’s vision remains unchanged. Renowned ophthalmologist Dr Sanduk Ruit said that this prosthetic serves a cosmetic purpose, enhancing the appearance of her eyes without affecting her vision. While the procedure doesn't offer functional improvement, it brings comfort to Menuka, eliminating the need for glasses.

Paudel’s journey to fame started with Nepal Idol in 2017, where she reached the top 11. The following year, she auditioned for Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and made it to the top 15 before leaving due to personal reasons. After a break, she became a grand jury member on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs.
In 2023, she participated in Indian Idol 14, making it to the top 10 before leaving. Despite her visual impairment, her music continues to shine bright, inspiring many along the way.
