I acted impermeable for your racing heart,
I wanted to grow strong, focus on my career,
I wanted to be articulate and make my life.I lived in apathy, I feared failure,
But I didn't let my eyes embellish my anxieties,
I was always running after money,
I wanted to build pyramids of my possessions,
I had forgotten that none of these mattered in the end,
As now I am counting my hours before death,
At an old age home,
Etched in my memories are the people that loved me,
And the way I ignored them
The irrevocable truth today
The reason, my children are indifferent, too.
