RASUWA, Oct 13: The number of tourists visiting tourist destinations of Rasuwa is increasing. The domestic and international tourist influx in the district is increasing as the tourism season has started.

The hotels of all three trekking routes that are in operation have started to be occupied. The number of tourists reaching the Langtang trekking route, Gosainkunda trekking route, and Tamang Heritage route, apart from the district headquarters Dhunche, is growing.

According to the records of Langtang National Park, 200 tourists have been visiting the district daily on average nowadays. Majority of tourists entering Rasuwa go for Langtang and Gosainkunda. Foreign tourists’ first choice is Langtang, whereas domestic tourists prefer visiting Gosainkunda of the district.

Nishan Gajurel, a hotel entrepreneur, said that the number of tourists visiting the district is on the rise every year.

“Nepali tourists are more in number in the first month of the season,” he said, “Nepalis come during Dashain and Tihar.” The location is near from Kathmandu and lately the trend of Nepalis visiting domestic destinations is flourishing because of which the number of tourists has increased.

Tourists visiting the park reach tourism sites like Langtang, religious site Gosainkunda. They also go for the Tamang Heritage trail. The district sees fewer numbers of tourists between mid-July and mid-October.

Most tourists come to the district between the period of October to mid-November and from mid-March to mid-May. Tourists visit touristic areas all year long. But three months are not suitable for tourism because of which the number decreases, according to the national park records.

The tourist influx has increased in the areas as tourists can reach there without guide and porter. “Tourists come to Langtang area for trekking,” Gajurel said, “The trekking trail is short and easy because of which tourists are attracted to it.”

Tourists from countries like Israel, France, Canada, Japan, Italy, America, Thailand, England, Korea, Russia, Spain, Uruguay and Singapore visit the district. About 90 percent of tourists visiting Langtang National Park reach Langtang.
