KATHMANDU, Aug 26: Three police posts have been damaged by severe flooding in Rasuwa, with 26 police personnel still unaccounted for, according to the Nepal Police.
Nepal Police Headquarters said that the Area Police Office in Timure, the Rasuwa Gadhi Police Post and the Syafrubesi Police Post were affected by the floods by 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. The Area Police Office in Timure was swept away by the floodwaters.
Of the 25 police personnel stationed at Timure, 12 have made contact while 13 remain unaccounted for. At the Rasuwa Gadhi Police Post, only one of nine personnel has made contact, leaving eight unaccounted for. At Syafrubesi, four of nine personnel have made contact while five remain unaccounted for.

In total, 17 of the 43 police personnel stationed at the three locations have made contact, while 26 remain unaccounted for, according to the preliminary police assessment.
Flooding has also caused damage in several areas of Nuwakot, including Trishuli Bazaar, Dhunge Bazaar and Devighat, according to the District Administration Office. Rising water levels have affected Trishuli Bazaar, while floodwaters have also entered Nuwakot Prison.
Police said areas around Betrabati, Tupche and Trishuli Bazaar have also been affected. Several bridges used to cross the rivers have reportedly sustained damage, while the extent of damage to hydropower projects remains unclear.
Mahesh Khola along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading has also been inundated, with floodwaters reaching Malehu in Galchhi Rural Municipality-2, according to police.
The Nuwakot District Administration Office said a comprehensive assessment of the damage is still underway. Police teams are continuing rescue and search operations and collecting further information on the situation in the affected areas.
