KATHMANDU, June 21: Manoj Kumar Jaisi aka Manoj Pandey, accused of human trafficking and child sexual abuse, has been sent to jail for further investigation.

According to the Metropolitan Police Range Office, Kathmandu, Pandey was sent to Dillibazar prison for investigation as per Monday’s decision of the Kathmandu District Court. 

A police team deputed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had arrested Pandey after two FIRs of child sexual abuse, human trafficking and transportation were filed against him and handed over to District Police Range. 

The rape survivor and her mother had filed the FIRs against Pandey. 

The Metropolitan Range, Kathmandu, had initiated an investigation and a case was filed at the Kathmandu District Court through the District Public Prosecutors Office on June 10.  

The survivor had released video using the social media on June 7, alleging that Pandey had raped her after sedating her in the pretext of a party following a beauty pageant eight years ago.
