KATHMANDU, Oct 19: The inauguration ceremony of historical Rani Pokhari in Kathmandu has been scheduled for October 21, this Wednesday.
Rani Pokhari, the Malla-era pond with great religious and cultural values, along with other heritages in the Kathmandu Valley was ravaged by the earthquakes of 2015. It was built by King Pratap Malla in 1671. It took almost five years to complete the reconstruction of this heritage in its original style.
After the inauguration, the Balgopaleshwor Temple will be opened for public during this year’s Tihar celebration.
Nepal Reconstruction Authority has also urged the government to inaugurate the historical Durbar High School on the same day.
