KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Rana siblings- Mayanka and Mahika - have advanced to the third round of the ongoing 2nd Lalitpur District National Open Lawn Tennis Tournament on Wednesday.
In the women's singles matches played at the Satdobato Tennis Complex in Lalitpur, Mayanka defeated Subhangi Laxmi Shah 6-0, 6-1 while Mahika saw off Saloni Tamang 6-1, 6-4. In the same category, Prerana Koirala beat Bhagawati BK 6-3, 6-1 while Ganga Maharjan got past Bijisha Shrestha 6-3, 6-4.

Likewise, in the men's singles, Pradeep Khadka registered 6-1, 6-1 victory over Bijay Shrestha while Subrat Basnet prevailed over Mukti Sen Gurung 6-3, 7-5. Mahesh Shrestha and Santosh Khatri hammered Roshan KC and Jayjeev Hada 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0 respectively.
In the same category, Kamal Bhandari and Shreeram Magar got through to the next round by overcoming Aadit Subedi and Man Bahadur Katuwal 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively. Also, Gaurav Pratap Shahi and Pranav Khanal booked their places for the third round defeating Abhinav Shah and Semant Gurung 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0 respectively.
Meanwhile, in the women's doubles category, Ganga Sharma and Abhilasha Bista thumped Shubhangi Laxmi Shah and Prakriti Shrestha 6-0, 6-2.
In the men's doubles category, the pair of Pradeep and Raj Lama defeated Aarav Hada and Aryan Giri 6-1, 6-3 while Bijay and Chhewan Lama saw off Mukti Gurung and Subrat Basnet 7-6, 6-4. Likewise, Sunit Giri and Jayjeev Hada overwhelmed Gauri Shankar Shrestha and Rajesh Chhetri 6-2, 6-3.
