KATHMANDU, Sept 25: Newly appointed managing director of Nepal Telecom (NTB), Kamini Rajbhandari, took charge of the office on Sunday.
She is the first women to reach the top-most of the state-owned telecom operator - the largest public company in the country.
After assuming office, Rajbhandari said NT would work to enhance service quality. She also vowed to focus more on data services and regular maintenance of existing facilities. “I will put focus on strengthening the organization and make effective coordination among different units of NT,” added Rajbhandari.
According to a statement issued by NT, Rajbhandari holds an MBA in Management of Technology) from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. She holds a Bachelors degree in electronics and electrical communication engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigadh, India.
Rajbhandari joined NT in 1985 as an engineer. She holds expertise in fixed network planning and project management as well as GSM planning, monitoring and evaluation.
