KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Rainfall has been taking place in most parts of the country for the past five days. And it is likely to continue for three more days due to the impact of the monsoon low pressure areas.
Due to this weather system, it will rain for three more days, said Meteorologist Binu Maharjan of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division. The weather will gradually improve from Tuesday.
Rainfall to continue for few more days
Meteorologist Maharjan said that the monsoon is still active in Nepal. She said that the impact will be comparatively less than the previous days.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the Division, light rainfall is currently taking place in a few places of Province 1, and Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces. In the afternoon, there is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces.
According to the division, the same weather system will continue during the night as well. In the last 24 hours, 169 mm of rain has been recorded in Birendranagar and 165 mm in Nepalgunj. Ghorahi received 140 mm of rain, Dhangadhi 90 mm, Dipayal 63 mm and Dadeldhura 44 mm. Kathmandu recorded 9.5 millimeters of rain.
