KATHMANDU, Aug 19: A massive flood triggered by incessant rainfall has swept away Saini Bazar of Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-5 in remote Achham district on Wednesday, leaving over two dozen people missing.


The flood in Kailash River swept away many houses and human settlements last night at around midnight.  


According to the Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Sudur Paschim Province Japat Bohora, more than 19 people are still missing and the dead bodies of four people have been recovered so far.

The detailed information about the incident is still awaited.


The search and rescue activities have become challenging due to continuous rainfall in the area. The dead bodies recovered from the site are yet to be identified.


A team of security personnel have already headed toward the incident site.


The local administration is also looking forward to sending helicopters in the area for rescue missions. All available ambulances, passenger vehicles and hospitals in the district have been directed to keep themselves on standby position for immediate response.
