Railway engines gradually rusting

DHANUSHA, Nov 19: The railway equipments and accessories are gradually gathering dust and rusting as the railway was called closure for three years in course of the construction of the Janakpur-Jayanagar broad-gauge railway.

DHANUSHA, Nov 19: The railway equipments and accessories are gradually gathering dust and rusting as the railway was called closure for three years in course of the construction of the Janakpur-Jayanagar broad-gauge railway. It is the only one railway in the country but has remained non-operational for long. 


The engines of the railway are lying totally neglected as the concerned authority was not properly protecting them.

Though, 18 employees were deputed to protect the railway engines and property, they were not found serious in this connection. 


Locals have said that the tourists could be attracted as the old coal engine (now completely phased out) was protected keeping them in museum as well. 


When contacted for comments, Railway and Metro Department engineer Binod Ojha said that they did not have any responsibility of protecting the railway equipments adding that the government has separately deputed 18 employees for the purpose. RSS
