Raging fire controlled after more than two hours

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: A fire that raged on outside a shoe factory at Taukhel in Lalitpur ditrict Saturday evening has been been doused after nearly two and half hours at about 10 p.m., said Lalitpur police. A policeman told myrepublica.com that the fire broke out from discarded shoes outside the factory premises. No one has been injured, he said. Several fire-fighting engines were deployed to control the fire. The cause of the fire is not known yet.
