Radio Nepal should promote every language: Minister Karki

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki has said Nepal is a garden of all castes and communities residing here and we should move ahead by cultivating this garden. 

Opening an inclusive musical program of Radio Nepal here on Tuesday organized on the occasion of the Constitution Day-2073 BS, Minister Karki said linguistic, cultural and religious diversities is the characteristic of Nepal and such characteristic should always be preserved and promoted. 

On the occasion, he pledged the best on his part to promote the Radio Nepal, the state-owned media house. He stressed that Radio Nepal should prove it as a voice and common property of all Nepali people. 

Speaking on the same occasion, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya expressed hope that the program would contribute to keep unity among all castes and religions existing in the country. 

Stating that Nepal's constitution has recognized all languages that are spoken throughout the country, he said the daylong event to be presented in 21 languages would help enforce the constitution. 

Efforts are on to provide the Radio Nepal services round-the-clock and to enhance its quality as well, Secretary Thapaliya said. RSS
