Lamichhane made this commitment during his opportunity to present his case in the ongoing hearing before Judge Nitij Rai. As the detention hearing nears its conclusion, former Home Minister Lamichhane requested the court either to grant him bail or set a trial date. He said that he did not misuse his power during his tenure as Home Minister and reassured the court that he would not misuse it now.

The Kaski District Court is expected to issue a decision on Thursday regarding whether Lamichhane will remain in custody for further investigation or be released. In anticipation of the ruling, security measures have been heightened around the court premises and key locations in Pokhara, with only police allowed on the streets.
