Quality Control Department monitors street food stalls

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Department of Food Technology and Quality Control on Wednesday monitored street food stalls in 20 different places of Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts.

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Department of Food Technology and Quality Control on Wednesday monitored street food stalls in 20 different places of Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts.


According to Madan Kumar Chapagain, the deputy spokesperson at the Department, the monitoring body found that the street food stalls were not found satisfactory in terms of food quality in the absence of proper hygiene of the vendors and sanitation of the stalls.

The department gave a seven-day deadline to the stalls owners to correct the weaknesses.


The monitoring team of the department has also collected 15 samples of street foods for quality test.
