SURKHET, March 13: A person has been arrested by the District Police Office, Surkhet on the charge of practising medicine without a license. The alleged is Dipendra Kafle associated with the Subhalaxmi Hospital. He is accused of using other's medical council registration number to impersonate himself as a medical practitioner.

He was arrested as per the request of Nepal Medical Council, Bansbari on February 17 to investigate into his 'professional' documents and the direction of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) on February 20, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabi Rawal.

The police have obtained a time of three days from the Surkhet District Court to further investigate into the matter.

Fugitive arrested

Meanwhile, the Office has arrested one Mohan Bishwakarma of Barahatal rural municipality-8 convicted in the rape case today. He has yet to serve three years in prison on the case. The guilty was caught as he was hiding in his own house, police confirmed.
