KATHMANDU, May 9: Qatar Airways on Sunday announced that it will be the official partner and official airline of Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) until 2022.
Issuing a statement, the airline said that it would be the official sponsor and airline of two upcoming World Cups in Russia and Qatar and FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, FIFA Club World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup.
“The deal is one of the biggest sporting sponsorships in the world and the largest in the history of Qatar Airways. The airline will also have visibility at competitions such as the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the FIFA Futsal World Cup and the FIFA Interactive World Cup, the world’s largest online gaming tournament.,” the airways said in a statement.
“We look forward to celebrating wins with the fans, being inspired by the artistry of the players, and to the excitement of each match over the next two FIFA competition cycles, until the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be proudly held in Qatar,” Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group chief executive, said.
