KATHMANDU, Nov 27: Film ‘Purano Dunga’ of Ram Babu Gurung who had directed blockbuster ‘Kabbadi’ series has made an aggressive start at the box office. The film hit the screens across Nepal on Friday.
The plot of the movie is based on the relationship between two brothers and issues created by their financial problems. The movie is produced by Cinema Art and Maotse Gurung Films.
Movie producer Madiram Pokhrel said that the film has already collected Rs 10.5 million within two days of the release. The movie was houseful in multiplexes till Saturday evening.
The popularity of the song ‘Nira Jahile Risaune’ has contributed hugely for the aggressive collection, according to him.
“The movie was able to make a maximum profit on Friday”, said Pokhrel, “It is making a good run at multiplexes.”
The movie has been able to captivate a good market internationally as well.
The movie has been sold out for Hong Kong, Korea, USA and Britain, while movie producer Raunak Bikram Kandel, director Ram Babu Gurung and actor Daya Hang Rai are in Australia to promote it.
The cast includes Rai, Priyanka Karki, Menuka Pradhan, Dibi Gurung, Sudam CK, Budhi Tamang, Puskar Gurung, Naujang Gurung, Sajan Thapa, Biswas Gurung, Madiram Pokhrel, and Maotse Gurung while the movie distributers are Manoj Rathi, Ujjwol Paudel and Govinda Shahi.
