KATHMANDU, July 12: The government has again increased the fares of public transport. The government has increased the fare of public transport with effect from July 11.
The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has stated that the fares of public transport have been increased due to the increase in the market price of fuel.
Reluctance to implement adjusted transport fares
The department has increased the fare of passenger vehicles by 1.79 percent. Similarly, fares of freight vehicles operating on hilly roads have been increased by 2.34 percent and freight vehicles operating on Terai roads by 2.6 percent.
Earlier, the DoTM had increased the transport fare on March 26.
