KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The government has announced a public holiday on Friday, on the occasion of the birthday of Hazrat Mohammad, the propounder of Islam religion.
Issuing a press statement on Thursday, Home Ministry has announced a public holiday also on December 25 on the occasion of Christmas Day. Earlier the government had scrapped the public holiday on Christmas.
Likewise, the government has decided to give the public holiday on Poush 27, on the occasion of Prithivi Jayanti. Following the people's revolution in 2006, the then government had scrapped the holiday of Poush 27.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy Kamal Thapa informed the government decision on his twitter account.
Accordingly, all government offices across the country and Nepali diplomatic missions abroad will remain closed on those days.
