KATHMANDU, Oct 13: A public awareness rally in support of Dr Govinda KC has been scheduled to be organized on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The rally is set to start at 12 PM noon from Maitighar Mandala.
The members of political parties, political sub-groups, associations, councils, media persons, general people, etc are all officially invited to take part in the rally by Dr Govinda KC and support his crusade to improve the degrading medical sector of the nation.
Crusader of the reforms in the medical sector, Dr. Govinda KC has been staging 13th fast-unto-death demanding reforms in the medical sector.A senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Institute of Medicine (IoM), had staged his 13th fast-unto-death after the government failed to fulfill their promised in past 12 times.
The demands include enacting the Medical Education Act, implementing past agreements with Dr KC, stopping issuing affiliations to private medical colleges before introducing new rules, ending commercialization in medical education, forming a panel to probe the irregularities in the medical sector, opening a government medical college in each province, and taking action against Tribhuvan University officials who “resorted to spoil medical education.”
