Province government concerns national pride projects

BUTWAL, Aug 15: The province government has shown concern on the construction of national pride projects. 

At a discussion programme at chief minister's office on Tuesday, Province-5 chief minister Shanker Pokharel enquired the project chiefs about the progress of national pride projects being implemented in the Province-5. 

Chief Minister Pokharel held the discussion on exploring measures to complete the projects in a timely manner. He obtained various information related to work progress, spending, remaining work and time required to complete the projects from the projects in-charge. 

Among the national pride projects operational in the province-5 include Gautam Buddha International Airport, Lumbini Master Plan, Babi Irrigation Project, Bheri Babai Diversion Project and Postal Highway. 

On the occasion, Project In-charge of Gautam Buddha Regional International Airport Om Sharma apprised the province government of works being carried out in a way to operate the airport within 10 months. 

Likewise, Lumbini Development Trust Project In-Charge Saroj Bhattarai shared that 80 per cdent of the works of the Lumbini master pan has been completed and progress is on to complete remaining works within coming five years. 

Babai Irrigation Project In-charge Kunjan Bhakta Shrestha, Sikta Irrigation Project's senior engineer Praveen Shrestha and Bheri-Babai Diversion Project's In-charge Om Prakash Pudasaini, among others shared work progress made so far in the projects and challenges faced during the implementation.
