KATHMANDU, August 11: The chief of Lumbini Province, Amik Serchan has asked the opposition parties to form a new majority government in the province.
Soon after the chief minister (CM) of the province, Shankar Pokharel resigned from his post, Province Chief Sherchan summoned opposition parties and asked them to form a new majority government by 3 PM on Thursday.
CM Pokharel resigned from his post earlier today after the no-confidence motion was about to be discussed in the provincial assembly. Kul Prasad KC, the parliamentary party leader of the Maoist Center, is projected to be the next chief minister of Lumbini Province.
