KATHMANDU, Jan 17: Province 2 has been officially named Madhesh, as per the results of a poll held at the secretariat office of the provincial assembly.
On Monday, elections were held for picking the province’s capital and the name. Among the 99 lawmakers present at the polls, 80 were in favor of naming the province as Madhesh.

On the same occasion, the lawmakers voted in favor of Janakpur as the capital of the province.
