Province 2: first meeting of sixth provincial assembly convention today

KATHMANDU, June 7: The first meeting of the sixth convention of the Provincial Assembly of Province 2 is scheduled to be held today. 

The budget session was called on Monday after the provincial government concluded the fifth convention of the provincial assembly.

On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, the state chief Dr Rajesh Ahiraj has called a budget session of the provincial assembly for Monday. According to Ranjit Yadav, acting secretary of the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the party leaders have an agenda in the meeting and Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Bijay Yadav will table the pre-budget documents prepared for the fiscal year 2021/22.

There is a constitutional provision that the provincial government should submit the budget for the fiscal year by June 15. Similarly, the government's policy and program for the fiscal year 2021/22 will be presented in the parliament only after the pre-budget discussion in the provincial assembly meeting on Monday. Accordingly, the provincial government has stated that the policy and program will be brought on June 10.

Province Chief Dr Ahiraj will present the policy and program for the coming fiscal year 2021/22 in the provincial assembly. According to the Parliament Secretariat, the policy and program has been postponed due to the COVID pandemic.
