Province 1 decides to hold election of Speaker by January 12

Biratnagar, Jan 8: An all-party meeting in Province 1 has decided to complete the election of the Speaker of the provincial assembly by January 12.

CPN-UML Chief Whip Rewatiraman Bhandari informed Republica that the meeting held at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat to decide the schedule for the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker decided to complete the election of the Speaker by January 12 and Deputy Speaker by January 14.

According to Bhandari, the meeting chaired by Gayananda Mandal, the senior-most member of the provincial assembly, decided to postpone the meeting of the provincial assembly scheduled for January 9 and hold it on January 10 at 11 AM.

Similarly, Bhandari informed Republica that it has been decided to hold the election of the Speaker by January 12, to set the working schedule for the election on January 10, to complete the election of the Deputy Speaker by January 14, and to set the working schedule for the same by January 12.
