Prov 6 named as Karnali, permanent capital in Birendranagar

SURKHET, Feb 24: Province 6 has been named as Karnali and the capital has been fixed in Birendranagar of Surkhet. The assembly meeting of the province has decided the name and the capital of the province on Saturday.

SURKHET, Feb 24: Province 6 has been named as Karnali and the permanent capital has been fixed in Birendranagar of Surkhet. The assembly meeting of the province has decided the name and the capital of the province on Saturday.

Yam Lal Kandel of CPN-UML had proposed the name of the province as Karnali where as chief whip of Nepali Congress Din Bandhu Shrestha, Ganesh Prasad Shrestha of CPN (Maoist Center) and Soshila Shahi of Rastriya Prajatantra Party had seconded the proposal.


Likewise, parliamentary party leader of NC, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi had proposed to fix Birendranagar as provincial capital whereas Ammar Bahadur Shahi of UML and Naresh Bhandari of Maoist Center had seconded the proposal.
