Protesting deserter army, police set ablaze truck, driver

LAHAN, July 17: Individuals who deserted the army and police forces during the insurgency set a cargo truck (Na 2 Kha 3077) and its drivers ablaze along the Saptari-Rupnagar section of East-West highway. Truck driver Rakesh Lama who sustained serious burn injuries is receiving treatment in BPKIHS, Dharan.

The deserters resorted to arson claiming that their strike call was defied.

The deserters also set ablaze another truck (Na 3 Kha 7082) near Bhan of Siraha district Friday morning.
