Non-violence advocates protest agreement to export buffalo meat to China

Various organizations advocating non-violence have protested, demanding that the government cancel the buffalo meat export agreement with China.

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Various organizations advocating non-violence have protested, demanding that the government cancel the buffalo meat export agreement with China. A demonstration was also set into motion at Maitighar on Saturday, seeking the cancellation of the agreement.


In particular, organizations, institutions, vegetarian associations, and others have demonstrated against the buffalo meat export agreement. They have taken to the streets with various placards with the slogan "Let us live, let others live."

During Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's recent visit to China, an agreement in principle was reached between Nepal and China on exporting buffalo meat.


According to experts in the relevant field, Nepal has been exporting buffalo meat to China for a long time. Animal product traders have said that the scope of this will be further expanded after the agreement is signed at the government level.
