KATHMANDU, Sept 24: The National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has decided to change its name to Manmohan Academy of Medical Sciences.
A meeting of NAMS Senate held under the chairmanship of Minister for Health and NAMS
Assistant Chancellor Gagan Kumar Thapa on Saturday decided to propose the name change to the concerned ministry. However, the name of Bir Hospital will remain same.
Dr Govinda KC and the government had reached a deal to change the name of NAMS to Manmohan Academy and recall the proposed bill on the formation of Manmohan Academy of Medical Sciences.
Likewise, the senate has given go ahead to acquire Manmohan Medical College for Bir Hospital.
