Proportional votes: UML leading, NC second

KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Under the election to the members of the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies, as many as 10,382,085 votes cast under the proportional representation have been counted so far.

According to the information entered in the Election Commission's information system, CPN-UML has received 2,773,999 votes out of 94.61 percent of the total number of votes counted by that system, while Nepali Congress is in second place with 2,644,241 votes.

The CPN (Maoist Center) has secured 1,161,256 votes, Rastriya Swatantra Party 1,119,996 votes, Rastriya Prajatantra Party 585,921 votes, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal 420,931 votes and Janmaat party has got 394,345 votes.

The results of 162 of the 165 constituencies under the direct elections to the House of Representatives have been announced. The results of Syangja-2, Dolakha and Bajura are yet to come.
