GAUSHALA, May 5: A gang of looters has looted property worth 500,000 rupees after taking a family under gun-point in Sarigaon of ward no. 10 of Jaleswar municipality early this morning.


The incident took place in the house of Nabin Thakur at around 1:00 am, SP at the District Police Office, Iswar Karki said. The gang of four to five masked persons looted ornaments and cash from the family.

The looters reportedly entered the house after breaking off the iron rods in the windows and took all the three members of the family under their control, before making off with the loot. Gold and silver ornaments, mobile telephone and cash were looted. Meanwhile, a search has been initiated to nab the looters, police said.
