RAJBIRAJ, Oct 6: Property worth Rs five lakhs was gutted in a fire that broke out at a hardware shop in Kanchanrup-5, Saptari Friday. 

All goods at the shop owned by Ajay Rauniyar were reduced to ashes in the fire that was reportedly due to a short- circuit, the District Police Office, Saptari said. 

The fire was put out with a joint effort of police and local administration. 

Meanwhile, the cases of theft have gone up in the district headquarters these days. In the latest incident, a group of five-six individuals reportedly barged into a mobile shop and made away with gadgets worth over Rs five lakhs. RSS
