KATHMANDU, April 29: The prohibitory order issued by the chief district officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur has come into effect from today.
The prohibitory order came into force starting 6 AM on April 29 and will end on May 12 midnight as per the decision made by a joint meeting of the CDOs of three districts in Kathmandu Valley.
Only essential services will operate while most of the services will remain shut until the prohibitory order is lifted.
Earlier, a meeting of the three district administration offices had decided to enforce a week-long prohibitory order in the Valley from April 29, which has now been extended by a week.
A cabinet meeting decided to extend the week-long prohibitory order, stating that a week is not enough to break the chain of the COVID-19 infection.
