KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, has said that problem of flight disruption at Taplejung-based Suketar airport would be resolved soon.
Minister Bhattarai, who arrived in his hometown for the first time after his appointment to the post, carried out the onsite visit of the airport this morning and added that airport would be upgraded for regular flights.

He said that there should not be any delay in upgrading the airport as district dwellers and tourists have been facing difficulties due to disruption of regular flights following many reasons including bad weather.
Flights are disrupted in Suketar airport from June/July to September/October every year due to bad weather. The flights operated by Nepal Airline Corporation at this airport have been obstructed from June/July due to bad weather.
Tourists visiting Kanchanjangha mountain and Pathivara temple have been facing problem in lack of regular flights.
Meanwhile, Minister Bhattarai handed over support to 'Community-Police Library', established at the District Police Office, this morning. Minister handed over a check of Rs 300,000 to Phungling municipality mayor, Chhatrapati Pyakurel, provided by Nepal Re-Insurance Company.
