Priyanka Chopra and Keanu Reeves’ Matrix 4 title, action-packed trailer unveiled

LOS ANGELES

Priyanka Chopra and Keanu Reeves’ highly-anticipated film, Matrix 4, now has an official title. Warner Bros recently revealed that the upcoming sci-fi film is called The Matrix: Resurrections at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, US. The studio also unveiled the trailer of the film there. Matrix 4’s cast also includes Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris.

In 2020, it was announced that Priyanka Chopra would star in Matrix 4. The actress spent a lot of time in Germany shooting for the film last year. Now, the film’s trailer was screened at CinemaCon, which is known for being the largest gathering of movie theater owners from around the world. There is no update on the trailer’s release on social media yet.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer began with Keanu Reeves’ character Thomas Anderson in therapy. He tells his therapist, played by Neil Patrick Harris, “I had dreams that weren’t just dreams. Am I crazy?”

The description read, “He senses something is off with the world, but has no memory of what The Matrix is. Later, he runs into a woman (Moss) at a coffee shop. They shake hands but neither one remembers the other. Meanwhile, Thomas spends his days taking prescription blue pills, and wondering why everyone is glued to their phones, him being the odd one out. Eventually, Reeves’ Thomas runs into a man (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who is reminiscent of Morpheus, the freedom fighter played by Laurence Fishburne in the original trilogy. This mysterious man hands Anderson a red pill, and soon we see footage of him with powers, seeing The Matrix for the fake reality that it is.”

The Matrix, the original film of the franchise was released in 1999. Starring Keanu Reeves in the lead role, the science fiction action film was followed by two more parts - The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, both of which released in 2003. All the Matrix films have received critical acclaim and praise from the audience.
