MORANG, Sept 9: Bhim Lal Subba, 60, an inmate of Morang District Jail, died on Thursday morning. According to Jailer Ram Prasad Pokharel, Subba of Morang Pathari Sanischare-10 died at a hospital while undergoing treatment.
Inmate dies of COVID-19 in Chitwan prison
The Morang District Court had ordered to remand the accused into custody on June 21 in a rape case. Pokharel informed Republica that he was kept in Morang Prison after the court order and his case was yet to be decided by the court. According to Pokhrel, he died at Nobel Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar at around 2 in the morning after being rushed from Koshi Hospital for treatment due to respiratory problems.
The deceased was diagnosed with high blood pressure. Pokharel said that Subba’s body was handed over to his family members for his final rites.
