JANAKPURDHAM, Oct 31: The police have arrested six people including a woman and started investigation into the murder of Rupesh Saraf, the owner and principal of Bal Ekta English Boarding School located in Kalaiya-6, Bara.
Preliminary police investigation has indicated that an extramarital love affair could be a factor in Saraf's murder. However, Madhesh Police Chief, DIG Janak Bhattarai informed Republica that the police are still continuing their investigation from various angles.
Bara Principal murder case: Key suspect arrested
Five Nepali individuals, along with one Indian national, have been taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in Saraf's murder.
One of the arrested women is a former employee of the same school. DIG Bhattarai told Republica that it is not possible to say exactly the reason for the murder as the arrestees are under surveillance, interrogation is underway and other facts of the investigation are being gathered. He said, "We are investigating whether people of India were also used in the murder. Our investigation covers all possible aspects, and we will soon release a comprehensive account of the incident with the gathered facts.”
During the investigation by the police, it was revealed that there were attempted attacks on Saraf on July 29 and September 14. Police have not disclosed the identity of five men and one woman who are in police custody for allegedly being involved in the incident. Once the cause of the incident is established, the police will provide a detailed report, including information about the accused.
On Monday afternoon, a group carrying a gun riding two motorcycles shot at Saraf and fled. Saraf, who received bullet injuries in his chest and arm, died at the Nepal Medicity Vayodha Hospital in Birgunj during treatment.
