Princess Jayanti Achievement Award presented

KATHMANDU, August 4: Top three female students of tourism and hotel management were honored with Princess Jayanti Achievement Award in Kathmandu on Friday. 

Hotel Annapurna has been providing the award to top performing female students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of Bachelors' in Hotel Management program of Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), handed over the award to Nisha Byanjankar, Aarati Silwal and Sarita Maharjan - the topper of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, respectively.

Speaking at the program, Joshi said that bright awaits students of tourism and hotel as the country has immense tourism prospects. “Welcome more than 400,000 tourists in first six months of the year, after destruction caused by the earthquake and blockade is not a small feat. Nepali tourism has bounced back strongly,” he said, adding: “The tourism sector is improving and it will improve more in the coming days. So a bright future awaits students who really are willing to contribute to the tourism sector.” 

Hotel Annapurna has been giving away the Princess Jayanti Achievement Award since 2002, to the top three female achievers studying at the graduate level in the field of Tourism and Hotel Management at NATHM. The award is a tribute and a legacy to the wishes of the Late Princess Jayanti Shah, according to the hotel.
