KATHMANDU, Sept 2: President Bidya Devi Bhandari worshipped and performed Pooja at the Krishna Mandir in Patan Durbar Square today on the occasion of Shree Krishna janmastami. 

On the occasion, President Bhandari received flowers and Prasad from the priest of the temple. As per the tradition, the Head of State makes a visit to and offers Pooja in Krishna Mandir in Shree Krishna janmastami every year. 

The temple made up of stones only during the 17th century in the time of the then King Siddhinarasingh Malla was reconstructed recently after it suffered partial damages in the Gorkha Earthquake. 

Priest of the temple, Bishnudhar Rajopadhyay, said that more than 250,000 devotees visited the temple and offered Pooja till 2:00 pm today. RSS
