KATHMANDU, May 11: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is paying an official visit to Sri Lanka from 13 to 16 May at the cordial invitation of the President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena.
She will leave Kathmandu on 12 May, said a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry today. The President will spend a day in Thailand on her way to Sri Lanka.

Minister for General Administration, Keshab Kumar Budhathoki, will accompany the President. Advisors to the President, Secretaries and other officials from the Office of the President and of Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as media persons will also be the part of the entourage.
The President will address the closing ceremony of the United Nations Vesak Conference in Kandy, Sri Lanka, as the Chief Guest on 14 May 2017. She will also pay homage to Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha in Kandy. During the visit, she will hold a meeting with Sri Lankan President Sirisena.
While in Thailand, President Bhandari will pay respect to the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej by presenting condolences wreath at the royal funeral urn at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
She is scheduled to return home on 16 May. RSS
