President Bhandari calls for elections friendly environment

ITAHARI, April 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari urged political parties and the government to create an environment to hold local level elections on May 14 in a fearless situation.

ITAHARI, April 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari urged political parties and the government to create an environment to hold local level elections on May 14 in a fearless situation.


She said that the local election to be held in almost two decades is not only a happy moment for people but also a moment to utilize their rights.

"The country has already entered into the federal democratic republic system and the election is a must to institutionalize the achievements by implementing the constitution," said President Bhandari on Friday at the Silver-Jubilee celebration of Sakuna Multpile Campus in Sundar Haraincha Municipality of Morang.  


She also expressed a hope that the local levels after the elections could give momentum to local development since the constitution has guaranteed significant rights to the local units. "The election could end anarchy at local units and guide the country towards peace, stability and prosperity," said President Bhandari.


She urged educational institution to focus on quality education to produce honest and conscious citizens.
