KATHMANDU, Feb 8: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has inspected the reconstruction activities of earthquake-hit heritage sites in Kathmandu valley today.
President Bhandari visited Rani Pokhari, Dharahara, Balgopaleshor temple and Basantapur Durbar Square.
According to Chief Executive Officer of National Reconstruction Authority Sushil Gyewali, the visit of president helps in expediting the pace of post-earthquake reconstruction efforts.

He also urged Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Department of Archeology to collaborate in making the reconstruction campaign successful and meeting the deadline.
President Bhandari also paid visit to Durbar High School.
The Durbar High School which is being reconstructed with the support of Chinese government is almost complete. The school has 60 total rooms, in which, 30 rooms are allocated for students and 30 rooms for library, science laboratory and IT lab. 40 CC cameras have also been installed in the school area.
Similarly, reconstruction of Rani Pokhari is scheduled to be completed within months of April/May 2020 and reconstruction of Dharahara is scheduled to be completed by April 24.
Likewise, 50 percent of reconstruction of Kastapmandap has been completed so far.
