Kathmandu, Aug 24: Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel on Saturday said that the preservation of the public properties has become a daunting challenge in the present context.

Inaugurating a park constructed by Provincial 3 Government in Kathamandu, Minister Pokharel worried over the growing tendency of common people as well as party members to encroach upon public property. He, however, did not disclose the individuals involved in the encroachment of public properties.

He expressed his serious concerns over the growing attitude among people of having pride for misusing and transferring public property for private purposes. Speaking further, he also urged one and all to strive against the tendency as it is the duty of all citizens to protect and promote the public property.

Addressing the same event, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan Bidhya Sundar Shakya said that metropolis has expedited the reconstruction of quake-hit cultural heritages. “I would like to request one and all to participate in this mega campaign of reconstruction,” Shakya added.
