Preparations on to table Water Resources Bill in parliament

KATHMANDU, March 22: The government is preparing to submit the draft of the Water Resources Act in parliament. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal said that preparations have been made to finalize the Bill and submit it to parliament to make necessary laws for the implementation of the National Water Resources Policy 2077.

KATHMANDU, March 22: The government is preparing to submit the draft of the Water Resources Act in parliament. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal said that preparations have been made to finalize the Bill and submit it to parliament to make necessary laws for the implementation of the National Water Resources Policy 2077.


Minister Bhusal plans to submit the draft to the Cabinet and register it in parliament soon. She said that the integrated river basin project, which has been registered as an expected achievement of the water resources sector, is also on the verge of completion.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday on the occasion of World Water Day, she said that the government was working to conserve as well as promote water resources of the country. Pointing out the need to emphasize the implementation of the policy and program for the protection of water resources, she said that the awareness of the general public should also be taken into consideration.
