RATNANAGAR, April 2: As May 14 local level elections are fast approaching, preparations in Chitwan are in full swing.
The total 376 polling stations in 161 polling places have been set in the district for the elections, said the district election officer Hari Dhakal, adding that polling stations will be added in a place with more than 1000 voters with its categorization into groups (A, B, C, D, E) as per the calculation.
"Maximum of five polling stations has been established in a single election centre," he said.
The Election Commission is also working on revising electoral voter list by removing repeated and matched names of voters.
Preparations in full swing for phase II local polls
As a result, the EC has found a total of 301,300 eligible voters in the district, approximately 3,000 less from 315,937 voters made public by the EC earlier.
Bhaktapur Metropolitan City has the total 65 polling stations while Ratnagar, Khairahani, Rapti and Kalika municipalities 21, 17, 18 and 11. Likewise, 14 polling stations have been established at Ichhakamana rural municipality. RSS
