Preparations afoot for amending constitution: Rana

NAGARKOT, Nov 16: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman, Pashupati Shumsher JBR, today said preparations are afoot for amending the constitution to form two provinces in Madhes and address other demands. 

Speaking at an interaction held by Rafat Sanchar Club, Rana said the naturalized citizens would be allowed to hold any position except the post of President, Prime Minister and head of security organs. 

He said RPP Nepal and RPP will soon merge into a single entity with the agenda of reinstating Hinduism as Nepal's state religion. 

Rana added that a power sharing deal has been reached for party unification which will see him become the national chairman of Direction Committee while RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa would take up the post of chairman for implementing the decisions of the Direction Committee. 

The RPP Chairman also called for holding the local body election in the existing structure and stressed on restructuring the local levels after the local poll. 

Rana said that on a diplomatic aspect, Nepal's relation with the southern side has become better and added its relation with the north has not deteriorated as it has been rumored. RSS
