Earlier, Tara Airlines had conducted a test flight on 2075 BS and January 8, 2023. Now Nepal Airlines has announced that it will start regular flights.

This morning at 6:30 am, the NAC aircraft made a successful test flight at Resunga Airport in Resunga Municipality of Gulmi. It is said that after the flight with the technical team, NAC will now ask for a regular flight permit and in addition, tickets will be opened for commercial flights.

Khildhwaj Panthi, mayor of Resunga Municipality, said that an agreement has been reached with the corporation for one flight per week.

Earlier, the corporation had prepared for regular flights from Resunga airport. But due to non-payment of dues, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) did not grant permission to fly. After paying the remaining dues, the corporation got permission to fly once a week from Kathmandu.

As the test flight was successful today, after submitting the report, permission will be given for commercial flight and then regular flight will be carried out. NAC is ready to fly regularly, but the process is yet to be completed.

The foundation stone of Resunga Airport was laid in 2063 BS. After regular operation from 2071 BS, a test flight was carried out on the unpaved runway in 2075 BS. According to the airport office, about 330 million rupees have been spent for the construction of the airport.
