KATHMANDU, Aug 14: A bill related to transitional justice (TJ) is to be tabled in the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today. 


The HoR has made necessary preparations to endorse the bill today itself.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia presented a proposal in the meeting seeking endorsement of the Commission for Investigation of Forced Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation (Third Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. 


As per the schedule, Law Minister Chaurasia will present a proposal for discussion on the Commission for Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Third Amendment) Bill, 2079 BS along with the report of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee.  


Chairman of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, Bimala Subedi, had presented the committee's report on the Commission for Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Third Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS in the meeting of the HoR on Tuesday. 


The House of Representatives had sent the bill to the committee for discussion. The bill was passed unanimously by a meeting of the committee on August 8. 


Earlier, a three-member task force comprising leaders of major political parties had reached consensus on the contentious points of the bill.
