Amid a special function held at the Hotel Shankar, Lazimpat, Minister for Education, Science and Technology -- Giriraj Mani Pokharel, conferred the teachers of the community schools from across the nation. Tham Maya Pun, a teacher at Paudar Secondary School, Myagdi, was honored with the ‘PP Prasai National Best Teacher’- 2018 award. Similarly, tourism entrepreneur Pravakar Sumsher Rana was handed over the ‘PP Prasai Lifetime Achievement Award’. In the same event, seven were also honored as ‘PP Prasai Regional Best Teacher.’

The foundation presented Pun with a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while each of the best regional teachers got Rs 25,000 along with certificates. Also, the winner of each school got the Rs 10,000 worth of the educational materials. 

Speaking in the occasion, Minister Pokharel congratulated all the winners and praised the foundation for forming the award to encouraging the community teachers across the nation. 

The foundation has been providing the award to various teachers from community schools to respect, encourage and also motivate newcomers who yearn to work in the educational field. The Foundation was established on February 19, 2011, in memory of tourism entrepreneur Prajapati Prasai, aiming to foster the education and tourism sectors.
